If I told you to picture a 4th of July beach party that ranked somewhere between MTV's Spring Break and Lake Havasu, the last place you'd probably say is McCall, Idaho. I mean Idaho's just the place with potatoes and blue turf, right? That's where you're so wrong!
Nestled on the north shore of Payette Lake in McCall, North Beach is that party! North Beach has become such a popular destination for the 4th, that the department of Idaho Parks and Rec has to cap it's capacity at 750 people. Between you and me, that capacity is a bit fluid. You may be able to stop cars arriving by road, but good luck trying to keep the party yachts from pulling up from the lake!
4th of July on North Beach excites me almost as much as Christmas Day! It's a day of drinking, beer pong (I played more on 4th of July weekend than I have in my entire life,) tanning, dancing and making new friends! Somewhere between my hard peach teas and Hell or High Watermelons, I managed to capture some of the party.
